There is nothing that highlights the passing of time like visiting your grown children. During my last visit to my daughter, it struck me as I watched her preparing a meal for my little grandchildren how life comes full circle. To see her grown into such a woman is both natural and normal and wonderful and bewildering.
My little girl, who when a teen in my house, used to scramble her eggs in the microwave is now making homemade bread so beautiful and delicious main street bakeries would be jealous. Even though she has given me her recipe, mine just never looks or taste as good as hers. She’s leaps and bounds ahead of me in the kitchen compared to me at her age. At the same age as she is now, I was adding a tablespoon of mustard to jarred spaghetti sauce to make it unique. You gotta start somewhere!
My breakfast while at her house was her homemade cereal. My daughter making homemade cereal!! It was so wonderful, just the right amount of sweetness and an abundance of natural goodness. This cereal has a good crunch and wholesome taste. The dried cranberries add a deliciously sweet chewiness that makes this cereal a pleasure to eat. I ate every single bit of it. Sorry grands, Granna needs her fiber.
When I asked her for the recipe, she sent me a pin that led me to this beautiful food blog, My Gluten Free Kitchen. I owe a big thank you to them for forever changing breakfast for me. This cereal is so easy to make; I know you will enjoy it. I do eat cereal from the grocery store, but it can never compare to your own homemade cereal.

I love reading about your relationship with your daughter… you two sound very close. I am extremely close with my mother, so reading about your mother-daughter bond was heart warming. I have never tried to make my own cereal… kind of crazy now that I actually think about it. This looks and sounds delicious! I’m definately going to give it a try 🙂 Thanks for sharing another great recipe, Tammy!

We are now! hahaha It took a while to get here, but yes we truly love and enjoy each other. If you try this, be warned that it kinda ruins cereal out of a box for you. Thank you as always, Cheyanne, for the blog love!

I became a grandmother at 44 and have 4 grandchildren with the oldest being 5 and the youngest is my daughter’s son 3 months and my son’s daughter who is 4 months! It’s hard to believe myself sometimes, but I can’t even tell you how wonderful it is. They are my pride and joy. 🙂
